So...Looks like a Cabin is on my wish list

I came across this website (http://freecabinporn.com/) this afternoon and instantly became obsessed. The notion of having a hidden, tucked away gem which is off the grid and transports you back in time brings out the pioneer in me. I was obsessed with Anne of Green Gables after all, but I diverge. I'm feeling totally inspired so let out the inner recluse and get into cabin style!

Getting Cosy with Window Seats

It is one dreary day in SF. Lots of rain and damp cold and it is looking like this weather is going to stick around for a while. I finally have an excuse for my homebody tendencies.

Window seats to me exude this casual, opportunistic type of comfort. Stacked with pillows or tucked between bookshelves, the addition of a window seat is sure to invite comfort in any space.

Monday Bliss - Chunky Knits

The days are becoming more crisp and the nights more brisk and it's officially the perfect time to add chunky knits into your interiors. Love them layered and casually resting on top of a trunk or deep window sill. I think knits look especially beautiful when textures are mixed, but maintain a similar colour vein to keep things dynamic and sophisticated. It's time to snuggle up!

Gather Round! Fireside style

Nothing quite says comfort and joy like a roaring fire. So grab a warm blanket and snuggle in with style. My top 3 favorite fireside looks?

1. Stacked logs - the more the merrier

2. Bullrush baskets - casual chic storage in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

3. Sumptuous blankets - wool or cashmere, neutral or a pop of colour.

Sleeping Under the Canopy

With autumn swiftly on the rise it is time to wrap up and indulge in the hibernation of the season. Originally developed to keep kings and queens warm through the night canopy beds exude luxury and comfort.

Below is an image from the May/June 2011 issue of Lonny Mag. It is the home of Caroline Robert who is the owner if perch in New Orleans (http://www.perch-home.com/). I love how this look retains simplicity, while making a beautiful impact. The pom pom trim is a fun detail and gives the treatment a bespoke feel. The monogram pillows with red detail add a visual point of interest without being overbearing.
