Master of Form - Loie Fuller

Loie fuller was the first of her kind. When she first performed for Paris society in the late 19th century she caused quite the sensation. Armed with a simple silk costume and cunning creativity she delighted crowds as her movement was mimicked by fabric and form.

Graceful and truly mesmerizing she was a true pioneer and an inspiration for many.

Enjoy!

I posted a while back on artist James Nares - see the relation?

the McQueen Kate Moss hologram anyone?

Artist Adoration - James Nares

I first discovered James Nares at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo NY. I was immediately compelled by the movement, simplicity and strength of his work. This London born- New York based artist uses a rig to suspend himself over large-scale canvases and then paints one seemingly endless brushstroke.

Achieving an effortless sophistication alongside a powerful sense of purpose - his pieces always catch my eye. So it's no surprise that his work is a favorite of designers. His work might not be in everyone's budget - but a feast for the eyes comes at no cost.
